In 1965, Seiichi Miyake invented the tactile tile for the visually impaired. On March 18, 1967, the first pathway with tactile tiles for people with limited vision was installed in Japan.
In Batumi, most of the pathways designed for easy navigation by the visually impaired are paved with LEGI tactile tiles.
